Lusail set to host 2026 MotoGP Grand Prix on April 12

The Lusail International Circuit is set to come alive once again with the sound of high-speed action as it hosts the 2026 MotoGP Grand Prix on April 12, organisers confirmed yesterday.

Marking its 22nd appearance on the calendar, the Lusail round will be one of 22 electrifying races spanning five continents in the 2026 MotoGP season, including four stops in Asia.

After Austin in the US, Buriram in Thailand, and Goiania in Brazil, the 5.4-kilometer track, which has offered exhilarating night racing action since 2008, will be the season's fourth destination.

Brazil will return to the MotoGP calendar in 2026, taking Argentina's place.

Following the season's first race at the Buriram Circuit on March 1, the event at the Ayrton Senna Circuit in Goiania will take place on March 22. Argentina plans to hold a race once again after a circuit is constructed close to Buenos Aires, whereas Brazil has hosted races in 1987 and 1989.
