The 13th edition of the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival will take place on Katara Beach starting at 3:30 p.m. today and run until December 2. With the involvement of 12 nations—Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Iraq, Palestine, Portugal, Iran, Tanzania, and India—this year's schedule is extensive and varied.

Apart from the customary maritime contests that will take place on Katara Beach No. 2, there will be a wide range of artistic and cultural events. These include the customary rowing competition on December 1 at 3:30 pm and the customary sailing competition on December 2.

In addition to numerous handicraft shops showcasing a wide variety of them on Katara Beach, where an elite group of skilled craftsmen will practise their crafts, the festival features numerous marine museums full of rare collectibles and offering visitors a vivid picture and complete picture of the traditional life of parents and grandparents in the era of pearl diving. Additionally, the event provides a range of educational and recreational opportunities for children.
