The College of Business and Economics (CBE) is home to three academic departments -- Department of Accounting and Information Systems, the Department of Finance and Economics, and the Department of Management and Marketing.
The College of Business and Economics is proud to be a pioneer in setting world standards through its mission, vision, and objectives, and through the development of its state-of-the-art curriculum, faculty, programs, and facilities. The ultimate goal is to produce a competent graduate who holds a bachelor's degree that is accredited by international bodies, is well equipped with general and specialized knowledge of world standards, and is capable of meeting employment challenges in the private and public sectors and pursuing postgraduate studies in any reputable university.
The college was founded in 1985. With Majors and Minors and Internships at CBE, students can tailor their courses to further their personal interests and professional development in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems and Entrepreneurship.
Qatar University's College of Business and Economics has a memorandum of understanding with Qatar Petroleum. The agreement allows students and faculty from the college of Business and Economics to conduct research with Qatar Petroleum in a variety of topics. While the Ernest and Young (EY), LLP, one of the "Big 4" public accounting firms will provide QR 10,000 annually for the best accounting student. EY will provide opportunities to train 2-3 accounting graduates of the College of Business and Economics and allow students internship opportunities during the summer.
