13 Feb 2024Event
The Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha organising committee has announced that on February 13, almost 200 athletic events and activities would take place in Al Bidda Park in honour of Sports Day in Qatar. In addition to coordinating a number of events and sport races in partnership with Qatar Sports For All Federation, the committee encouraged all citizens and residents to take part in the wide range of activities planned for this occasion that will suit all age groups. It also emphasised that promoting sports through the organisation of sporting events is one of Expo 2023 Doha's most important goals for increasing sustainability, as many sporting events have been held since the Expo's launch four months ago.
Furthermore, in collaboration with a significant number of public parks, the federation is hosting a 365-Day Activity programme under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. In keeping with the Expo ideals, the programme aims to encourage everyone in the community to participate in sports at the green zones.
There will be a variety of sports and activities available in the Family Zone, including Telematch games, Muay Thai, Speedball, bow and arrow shooting, and fitness courses. In addition, the Expo collaborates with the federation to host winter races through February 9. This is because the organising committee is required to follow certain guidelines during Sports Day of Qatar 2024 in order to fulfil the day's intended goals, especially raising awareness of the value of sports participation among a variety of age groups.
The committee's main focus will be on physical, energetic, and awareness-raising activities that seek to reinforce sports as a daily healthy habit and raise participants' understanding of the value of sports and their role in the community.
