Qatar's public transport operator, Karwa, has successfully completed a trial of electric robotaxis under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport (MOT), marking another milestone in the country's push towards smart and sustainable mobility.
The autonomous vehicles completed a round trip between the MOT headquarters and the Old Doha Port, demonstrating the project's continued progress.
According to the MOT, the initiative supports Qatar's Autonomous Vehicles Strategy, which aims to integrate advanced, eco-friendly technologies into the public transport network while adopting global best practices in smart mobility.
The ministry added that the pilot was carried out in line with the highest safety standards and confirmed that the next phase of operations will be launched in partnership with Karwa.
