Katara International Ramadan Open Classic Chess Championship from February 20 to March 1

The Katara International Ramadan Open Classic Chess Championship has begun, organised by the Qatar Chess Federation, and runs until March 1 with 86 players competing.

Played over nine Swiss-system rounds, the tournament offers a QR25,000 prize fund, including QR5,000 for the winner, along with awards for top finishers and standout Qatari players. Federation President Mohammed Al Mudhahka described it as a key event on the annual calendar.
