Ministry of Municipality and Mowasalat inaugurated the new public parking lot in the old Al Ghanim Area

Within the former Al Ghanim (Old Gold Souq) Area, a new public parking lot was opened by the Ministry of Municipality and Mowasalat (Karwa). As part of the State's public parking management initiative, the company implemented the initiative on the site of the former Al Ghanim bus station. According to Law No. 13/2021 on regulating parking, which aims to improve the quality of life in cities and residential neighbourhoods, the opening of new parking lots in the Old Al Ghanem area falls within the Ministry of Municipality's vision to regulate public parking in the State. This is emphasised by Mansour Ajran Al Buainain, the Director of Doha Municipality.

By controlling parking spots and maximising their usage, this programme also aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to increase traffic safety rates while lowering heavy traffic and congestion in key populated places. building infrastructure projects to benefit the community in cooperation and partnership with the private sector, and making use of the State's resources, including its land and roads, to assist the State's economic growth.

The Old Al Ghanim bus station's property was turned into public parking lots due to the rising demand for parking spaces in the Doha Central Gold Souq region. This project will ease the burden on current parking facilities, improving traffic flow and ultimately helping our neighbourhood. To ensure a convenient parking service and a hassle-free visit to Central Doha, the Ministry of Municipality, M/S Computer Station Company, and all other stakeholders fully coordinated and supported the establishment of the new parking lot. The company specialises in parking organisation and management through state-of-the-art parking management systems. Parking deals, both temporary and permanent, will support the growth of business in this significant city neighbourhood.
