The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has automated 14 additional maritime transportation services, now available online through its official website. The new e-services include 10 related to large vessels and four linked to seafarers’ affairs.
The vessel services cover ship sanitation, permanent and provisional registration, annual fee payments, renewal services, extension and exemption certificates, seaworthiness certificates, NOCs for navigational warnings, and penalty payments.
The four seafarer services include the issuance, renewal, amendment and replacement of endorsements for GMDSS operator certificates, part of the international maritime safety system mandated by the IMO under the SOLAS convention.
The move enables beneficiaries to access and complete these services online anytime and from anywhere, saving time and effort.
