Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has renewed its call for motorists to comply with vehicle noise rules.
The ministry stressed that all vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, must adhere to the same noise limits, measured using approved technical devices.
The MoI confirmed that vehicle noise must not exceed 79 decibels, in line with approved standards, with levels measured using specialised devices and Fahes inspections.
It added that high-performance and sports vehicles are not exempt, warning that exceeding limits or modifying vehicles—such as altering exhausts or removing mufflers—constitutes a violation and may lead to legal action.
It also noted that vehicles supplied by authorised dealers must meet approved specifications, and any vehicle exceeding limits must be returned for necessary adjustments.
These rules fall under Circular No. (3) of 2023 issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, aimed at reducing noise pollution and ensuring consistent enforcement.
The MoI urged the public to follow all regulations to help maintain public safety and community peace.
