New real estate registration law; stipulates Real Estate Registration Department offer its services completely electronically

According to a senior official, the new real estate registration law was released to stay up to date with the most recent advancements and employ information technology in service delivery.

"The Real Estate Registration Department can provide its services entirely electronically, as per Law No. (5) of 2024 for regulating real estate registration," stated Amer Al Ghaferi, Director of the Ministry of Justice's Real Estate Registration Department.

In a recent interview with Qatar TV, he stated that it will simplify the services the Department offers to residents, foreign nationals, and the real estate industry as a whole.

Customers will soon be able to purchase and sell real estate electronically through the SAK application in accordance with the new law's rules.

The new law also allows the real estate registration processes outlined in the law to be completed online, in accordance with the guidelines and protocols established by a Ministerial decision.

According to the law, electronic requests and transactions for these procedures have the same legal standing as those involving paper assets.

In order to prevent fraudulent operations, increase transaction transparency, and notify all parties of real estate data, the law also added the feature of noting judicial rulings on the real estate page as soon as they are issued. This will help to decrease disputes between customers.
