Old Doha Port Triathlon, marking the start of the 2023-2024 triathlon season was hosted at the Grand Terminal Area

The Old Doha Port Triathlon, which kicked off the 2023–2024 triathlon season, marked the successful return of the Qatar Triathlon Federation to the competitive arena following a season off. Over 180 competitors took on the challenging Sprint Distance Triathlon on Friday in the Grand Terminal Area, while over 50 young athletes competed in the Youth Aquathlon.

The competition had an international feel thanks to the participation of competitors from surrounding nations including Kuwait and Bahrain in addition to local and foreign athletes. The three laps of the running track and the technically difficult four-lap draft-legal road bike portion increased the excitement.

The Qatar Triathlon Federation successfully returned to the competitive scene after a season off with the Old Doha Port Triathlon, which launched the 2023–2024 triathlon season. On Friday at the Grand Terminal Area, more than 180 athletes raced in the tough Sprint Distance Triathlon, while more than 50 young athletes participated in the Youth Aquathlon. Because participants from neighbouring countries like Kuwait and Bahrain competed alongside locals and international athletes, the competition had a truly global aspect to it.

Excitement was heightened by the three running track circuits and the technically challenging four draft-legal road bike loops.
