Passports & Expatriates Affairs

Establishments may submit requests to the General Directorate of Borders Passports and Expatriates at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to authorize representatives or other persons to use establishment e-services.

All matters concerning passport and visas in the State of Qatar is handled by the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Passports. Established in the fifties, the agency was originally operating as the Passports Division- Dairathul Jawazath. However, it was only after 1989, a restructuring of the government and the various departments gave birth to the current Directorate. For an overview on the functions, the General Directorate of Passports is responsible for implementing the rules, regulations and decisions for entry, exist and sponsorship of visitors and citizens.
