Planning and Statistics Authority launched field survey to study social determinants of fertility in Qatar

The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Research and Community Development, launched a field survey to study the social aspects of fertility in Qatar.

PSA said in a statement on Tuesday that the two sides have developed a study methodology to reach a representative sample of Qatari society to obtain accurate results that will aid in the formulation of evidence to help develop Qatar's five-year population policy.

The survey comes within the institute's plan to study all dimensions related to the decline in fertility rates in Qatar, highlighting the importance of this strategic plan and its contribution to the development of population policies in Qatar, the statement said.

It also indicated that PSA-licensed field researchers would make short visits to households till mid-October to collect necessary data.

In addition, the PSA confirmed the confidentiality of the data to be collected during the survey, in accordance with the provisions of the Statistics Law of Qatar and international statistics, since these data are considered as statistical numbers used to extract various indicators.

The PSA and DIFI called on citizens to cooperate with researchers and provide them with complete and accurate data, giving importance to the public interest and building an accurate picture of society.
