Qatar and Bahrain have launched a new 50-minute maritime passenger route covering 35 nautical miles (65 km), linking Al-Ruwais Port with Sa’ada Marina. The service was inaugurated by Qatar’s Transport Minister HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani and Bahrain’s Transport Minister HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla Al Khalifa, marking a new step in maritime cooperation.
A round-trip economy ticket costs QR265, with the new ferry taking 70–80 minutes between Al-Ruwais Port and Sa’ada Marina. Bookings can be made via the MASAR app. In its first phase, the service is open to GCC nationals only. Initial trips run from November 7–12 with two daily departures, morning and evening, increasing to three per day from November 13–22, with further expansion based on demand.
The ferry service offers both standard and VIP vessels, accommodating up to 28 and 32 passengers per trip, respectively. Each vessel is equipped with modern amenities and comfortable hospitality services. All journeys adhere to the security and customs regulations of Qatar and Bahrain to guarantee passenger safety and smooth travel procedures.
