Qatar Metabolic Institute

Qatar Metabolic Institute (QMI), is an initiative of the Hamad Medical Corporation Academic Health System, based on a unique collaborative partnership across several leading educational, research and clinical institutions in Qatar.

Their unified goal is to drive forward significant improvements in the health and disease outcomes of the Qatar population affected by diabetes, obesity and metabolic disorders.

QMI’s Academic Health System (AHS) partners include: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC); Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC); Sidra Medical and Research Center; Qatar Biomedical Research Institute; Qatar University; Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar; College of North Atlantic in Qatar; and University of Calgary in Qatar.

In line with Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) commitment to provide each and every one of its patients with the safest, most effective and compassionate care possible, the Qatar Metabolic Institute (QMI) at HMC raises awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and educates the public on the negative impact of being overweight or obese as this can not only affect quality of life, but it is strongly linked to preventable chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease and certain cancers, among many others.
