Qatar has been ranked the 19th-best country in the world in Condé Nast Traveller’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, topped by Greece.
The country ranked highest among Gulf nations on the list, ahead of Canada in 20th place and just behind France, which secured 18th position with 91 points.
Now in their 39th year, the awards received nearly 800,000 reader votes across destinations, hotels, cities and airlines. Country rankings were based on ratings submitted between April 1 and June 30, 2026.
Qatar’s ranking highlights its growing appeal as a global tourism destination, with its leisure, cultural and major events offerings attracting more international visitors.
Condé Nast Traveller noted that Qatar welcomed over five million visitors in 2024, a 25% increase from 2023, followed by 3.7% growth in 2025, driven by the legacy of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the country’s ongoing tourism strategy.
