Qatar ranks fifth in MENA and 46th globally in Coursera’s 2026 AI-Human Skills Synergy Index, highlighting its progress in developing AI and human skills under its National AI Strategy. The index assesses how learners in 98 countries are building AI and human skills while considering their overall AI readiness. Qatar’s ranking reflects its efforts under the National AI Strategy to strengthen talent development and expand AI adoption.
Qatar is strengthening its AI ecosystem through a $20 billion partnership between Brookfield and Qai focused on AI infrastructure and skills development. The ALIF programme, run by Qatar Digital Academy with Scale AI, trains government employees in the practical and responsible use of generative AI, while a Google Cloud initiative aims to deliver over 50,000 learning opportunities by 2030.
