Qatari citizens will be able to travel to Japan visa-free from 21 August 2023 onwards

Qatari nationals will be able to travel to Japan visa-free from August 21, 2023, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Consular Affairs Department made a statement announcing that Japanese authorities will activate the 'JAVES' system for exempting Qatari citizens from the Japanese visa on August 21, 2023.

It was also revealed that Qatari individuals who want to go to Japan can apply electronically through the system to the Japanese Embassy in Doha. They must register their passports and complete the visa exemption registration procedure online. Qatari citizens will be required to provide their visa exemption registration notification on their mobile devices upon arrival in Japan.
