Qatar Central Bank (QCB), in partnership with Samsung Gulf Electronics, has integrated Qatar’s national payment card system, Himyan, with Samsung Wallet, allowing eligible cardholders to make secure contactless payments using compatible Galaxy devices.
The integration enables users to add eligible Himyan debit and prepaid cards to Samsung Wallet and make contactless payments at point-of-sale terminals across Qatar.
The move supports Qatar’s digital payments goals under its national financial and development strategies.
Himyan is Qatar’s national payment card brand for debit and prepaid transactions, accepted across the country’s retail payment network and increasingly integrated with digital payment services.
With Samsung Wallet integration, eligible Himyan cardholders can now make digital payments directly through compatible Galaxy devices without carrying their physical cards.
Eligible Himyan cards added to Samsung Wallet can be used for secure, contactless payments through compatible Galaxy devices, offering greater convenience for everyday transactions.
Samsung Wallet protects payment details and transactions through features such as Samsung Knox, device authentication and biometric verification.
How to Add Himyan to Samsung Wallet:
- Open Samsung Wallet on a compatible Galaxy device.
- Tap Add card and select the payment card option.
- Enter or scan your eligible Himyan debit or prepaid card details.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Complete verification through the card-issuing bank.
- Once verified, use the Himyan card for supported contactless payments.
Note: Availability depends on the card-issuing bank and device compatibility.
The integration expands secure digital payment options for Himyan cardholders and supports Qatar’s growing tokenised payment ecosystem.
