Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has issued new instructions to insurance companies, exchange houses and finance companies to improve access to financial services for people with disabilities and the elderly.
The guidelines include:
Staff awareness: Employees should be trained to understand the needs of people with disabilities and elderly customers.
Priority service: The targeted groups should receive priority when carrying out transactions.
Financial protection: Employees should be trained to identify signs of financial exploitation.
Sign language: Selected branch customer service staff should receive basic sign-language training.
The measures support Qatar’s financial inclusion and ESG strategies and build on similar instructions introduced in 2025. They aim to promote equal opportunities and make financial services more accessible to all segments of society.
