The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has introduced a special initiative for Web Summit Qatar attendees, allowing them to establish companies on the QFC platform with major cost incentives for tech-focused startups.
Ticket holders can apply by scanning a QR code at the QFC pavilion and submitting basic details. Eligible companies must be registered as an LLC and include at least one technology-related activity, with fintech firms allowed up to nine sub-activities and others up to five.
Media applicants seeking fee waivers should coordinate with Media City Qatar. The initiative may offer founders savings of up to $155,500.

Visit the QFC booth at Web Summit and scan the QR code
Complete the Start Your Setup form (Web Summit ticket number required)
Receive a secure link if your proposed activity is eligible
Submit Part 1 of the online application
Complete Part 2 along with eKYC verification
Receive your licence upon approval
An account manager will be assigned for onboarding and ongoing support
Key points to note:
The company must be registered as an LLC
At least one approved activity must be technology-related
Up to five sub-activities are allowed, or nine for fintech firms
A temporary registered office address is available for up to three months (QFC Tower option)
Companies inactive for more than six months may face licence withdrawal and deregistration
Tax credits follow QFC Tax Manual rules and do not remove filing requirements
Firms must still register for tax, file returns and submit financial statements
A registered QFC office and a Qatar-resident Senior Executive Function holder are mandatory
Certain activities require Professional Indemnity Insurance
Compliance with QFC Data Protection Regulations is required
Annual returns, audited accounts and statutory registers must be maintained
