Based on the ministerial decision by Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi related to the annual school calendar for the academic year 2022-2023, official working for the school staff for the academic year 2022-2023 commences on August 14, 2022 and students on August 16, 2022. The second semester will start on December 25, 2022.
The decision also detailed the start and end date of all events, programmes and activities, including exams and vacations, and the beginning and end of each semester.
Half year vacation of the academic year will be from November 20, 2022 to December 22, 2022.
The vacation for academic staff for next academic year will start from June 18, 2023 till August 17, 2023. The last exam of the academic year will be on June 6, 2023.

As per the Academic Calendar for 2022-2023 issued by the Minister of Education, the half yearly vacation for schools will start from November 20, 2022 and will end on December 22, 2022, thereby the schools in Qatar will remain closed during the prestigious and highly anticipated event Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Event of the year, Qatar 2022 World Cup will kick off on November 21, 2022 at the Al Bayt stadium and the final will played on December 18, 2022 at the Lusail stadium. 64 matches will be held in the eight World Cup stadiums. The second semester for school will start on December 25, 2022.
