The Al Wakra Municipality has issued sun-blocking umbrellas in order to protect municipal workers on construction sites during the summer. The programme, according to Al Wakra Municipality's Department of Public Affairs and Services Affairs, aims to safeguard municipal workers and keep them safe from the hazards of sunstroke and stress.
According to the municipality, the umbrellas are differentiated by their thickness and convenience of attachment to the head in a way that helps shield from the sun while workers are present outside to clean streets and roads, conduct agricultural work, in public gardens, parks, walking trails, and public squares.
