Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has approved Cabinet Decision No. (5) of 2026, designating a number of tourist areas across the country. The decision was published in Issue 3 of 2026 of the Official Gazette by the Ministry of Justice.
Under the decision, 100 locations have had their coordinates specified in line with Law No. (20) of 2018, while 39 sites are formally classified as tourist areas. The ruling also repeals Ministerial Decision No. (106) of 2017 and takes effect the day after publication.
The designated sites include Qatar National Library, Education City, Katara Cultural Village, Doha Corniche and the stadiums of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
