The world’s largest football boot will be unveiled today at 6.30pm at Katara Cultural Village with the event being organised by Focus International, a leading international youth organisation in association with Qatar Public Diplomacy. Katara Cultural Village Foundation General Manager, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti; Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) President, PN Baburajan; Katara Public Diplomacy Centre (KPDC) CEO and Global Public Diplomatic Network Secretary-General, Engr Darwish Ahmed Al Shaibani; Guinness World Record Holder and curator of the Big Boot, M Dileef; Focus International CEO, Shameer Valiyaveettil and other prominent guests from different socio-cultural sectors will be attending the event.
The exhibition aims to express solidarity for Qatar’s efforts for highlighting the football as a sport that brings global fraternity among the nations and people. The organisers also said that the exhibition sets a new saga in the tradition of Indo-Arab and international cultural exchange.
The aim of the Big Boot exhibition is to show support to Qatar’s efforts to highlight the contribution of football to the world as a sport and to the brotherhood between nations and people, and to introduce the tradition of cultural exchange between India and Arabia to the new generation.
The boot is designed by artist and curator M Dileef who is a Guinness World Record holder. He is also the creator of the world’s longest Quran, the largest Marker Pen, Bicycle, Sanitizer, Screwdriver, and many other ‘big’ arts. The Big Boot is made of leather, fibre, resin, foam sheet and acrylic sheet, and is 17 feet long and 7 feet high. The design work of the made-in-India boot was completed in Qatar.
