12th edition of the Ajyal Film Festival; film submissions being accepted from May 12

The highly anticipated 12th edition of the Ajyal Film Festival is making a thrilling return, and the Doha Film Institute (DFI) is accepting film applications starting on May 12. The Festival's 2024 dates have also been announced. It will take place from November 16–23, 2024, and will provide a thrilling weeklong celebration of film, culture, and innovation for people of all ages.

The Ajyal Competition, which is split into two sections—a Feature Film Competition for narrative and documentary films and a Short Film Competition for shorter narratives and documentaries—invites filmmakers from all over the world to enter their work until September 1.

Furthermore, the well-liked 'Made in Qatar' segment of the Festival, which features movies from the country's flourishing artistic scene, will return to honor Qatar's dynamic and constantly changing film industry. The program, which raises awareness of the nation's film industry, has gained recognition and appreciation on a global scale. Residents and locals in Qatar are welcome to submit work for the "Made in Qatar" area; submissions conclude on September 15.

Ajyal, one of the top film festivals in the area that highlights the creativity and skill of up-and-coming artists, is still devoted to its goal of encouraging film appreciation and developing the next wave of storytellers.

The Festival presents a wide range of captivating movies from Qatar, the Middle East, and other regions. It features feature films, documentaries, and short films that are carefully chosen to captivate both young and old viewers. Ajyal also provides a variety of stimulating workshops, panel discussions, and activities that are intended to spark meaningful dialogues and encourage creativity on the potential of film as a vehicle for cross-cultural dialogue and social change.

For their films to be eligible for competition, competitors must follow the rules. Films submitted for the Festival this year should not have been broadcast publicly, released, or shown in public in the State of Qatar.
