Qatar retained its leading regional position in political stability and rule of law in the World Bank’s 2026 Worldwide Governance Indicators. The country also ranked among the region’s top three in government effectiveness, control of corruption and regulatory quality, improving in four of the six governance categories.
Control of corruption recorded the strongest improvement, rising by 2.74 points. The results support Qatar’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
