Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced that over 12,000 citizens and residents applied for Hajj 1448 AH before registration closed on October 20. Application screening will begin next Tuesday, with approved applicants notified via SMS.
Qatar’s Hajj quota for the 1448 AH season is set at 4,400 pilgrims. The ministry stated that applicants will be selected through clear and transparent criteria to ensure fairness. Early completion of the selection process will also allow approved Qatari Hajj operators to prepare logistics and services in advance for pilgrims.
The ministry said strong participation on hajj.gov.qa reflects public trust in its digital services. The streamlined online registration and contracting process supports its 2025–2030 strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030 goals for digital transformation and institutional excellence.
