1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, a cherished automotive relic, is in the spotlight of the “World’s Greatest Motorcars”

October 14th is the last day of the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar's "World's Greatest Motorcars" display. The 1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, a treasured automobile that was once owned by Amir H H Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani, is the centre of attention. Having already adorned GIMS in the same year, this timeless beauty now serves as the gallery's focal point.

As stated by GIMS, the Rolls-Royce Phantom chassis SICG25 "is an automotive monument to the long-standing relationship between Qatar and the Geneva Motor Show, going back 60 years," and it "represents the connoisseurship of Qataris." This automobile gem has an incredible array of amenities, including a left-hand drive, sunshine roof, reading lamps, a division with a clock and speedometer, an 8-cylinder, 6.2-liter engine, and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Along with the chassis number 5LCG25, it also boasts dual flagpoles, white wall tyres, and purdah glass. James Young is the car's coachbuilder.

Today is the last day of the 10-day celebration of automotive excellence and the first-ever GIMS Qatar. It is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There are more gems in the "World's Greatest Motorcars" section than the Phantom V. The 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Saloon, 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental Sports Saloon, 1928 Rolls-Royce Sports Phantom 17EX Experimental by Jarvis, 1930 Bentley Speed Six Folkestone Close-coupled Saloon, 1949 Bentley Mark VI 4-light Touring Saloon, 1920 Ballot 3/8 LC Grand Prix, and 1925 Rolls-Royce 40/50 HP "Silver Ghost" Piccadilly Roadster are just a few of the twelve incredible cars that have also found a place in this gallery.

Additionally, there are the 1949 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Drophead Foursome Coupe, the 1938 BMW 328 Roadster, the 1927 Rolls-Royce Twenty HP Tourer, the 1964 Lincoln Continental 4-door Convertible "Popemobile," and the 1979 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI 7-Passenger Enclosed Limousine.

Visitors to GIMS Qatar who are passionate about automobiles have been ecstatic to see both modern and classic vehicles. Spanish-born Maria Santos praised the outstanding presentation of GIMS Qatar, saying that each segment is a masterpiece. Ali Manuel, a Portuguese visitor, said how fascinated he was by the "World's Greatest Motorcars" exhibit and how he hopes to acquire a vintage vehicle soon.
