Qatar's Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has launched an electronic system allowing travellers to apply online for permits to carry controlled medicines for personal use.
The system enables travellers arriving in or departing from Qatar to:
- Apply for a permit online
- Track application status
- Receive the permit electronically
MoPH said the platform speeds up procedures, improves the user experience, and strengthens pharmaceutical oversight while ensuring safe use of controlled medicines.
A user guide has also been released, explaining eligibility, application steps, required documents, and the list of controlled medicines.
Key application details:
- Applications are processed within three working days after all requirements are met.
- Travellers should apply at least five working days before travel.
- A valid prescription and other required documents must be uploaded through the National Authentication System.
Applications are reviewed by the Department of Pharmacy and Drug Control, with permits issued in line with approved regulations.
