Al Meera Consumer Goods Company to revolutionise the retail sector with the introduction of smart carts

Through its partnership with Seattle-based software startup Veeve, Al Meera Consumer Goods Company is poised to transform the retail technology scene by launching smart carts for the first time in the area.

Smart carts will first be gently launched in the Wakrah South branch of Al Meera, then at the Leabaib 1 branch. Customers are welcome to test out this fresh and creative approach to shopping, which launches a groundbreaking period for Qatar's retail sector today, January 1.

With a touch screen, barcode scanner, and cameras, the retailer's newest smart carts aim to deliver an amazing shopping experience. Traditional checkout lines are superseded by the ability for customers to log in, scan products, and add them to the cart. Additionally, the screen will display the best local offers and discounts and be fully integrated with Meera Rewards, allowing users to buy and save at the same time.
