Mowasalat (Karwa) has announced on its official Twitter handle that all buses operating at The Pearl are now electric.
The development covers three metrolink routes, and eight Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) buses in operation.
According to Mowasalat, the move is "a major boost for a sustainable and eco-friendly public transportation."
During the Qatar World Cup, the official transportation provider in the country said that it aims to create a world-class transportation facility and to be a real legacy that keeps pace with post-tournament sustainable development projects.
"The public transport fleet will leave a legacy for the sustainable transportation system of Qatar," Mowasalat said.
The initiative is part of the Ministry of Transport's strategy to provide safe, reliable, and environmentally-friendly transport services in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
