The Organising Committee of the 4th GCC Games – Doha 2026 has confirmed that all arrangements are in place for the much-anticipated regional event, set to run from May 11 to 22.
Speaking at a press conference, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani said hosting the Games highlights strong sporting ties among GCC nations. He also unveiled the official mascot, “Washeq,” aimed at boosting fan engagement, especially among youth.
This edition will feature competitions in 19 sports, including athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, handball, squash, padel, fencing, boxing, taekwondo, karate, billiards, snooker, shooting, archery, equestrian, bowling, and table tennis.
Events will be held across 11 modern venues such as Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre, Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Lusail Shooting Range, and Qatar Sports Club, among others.
