Draft law on nationalization of jobs in the private sector approved in regular cabinet meeting

The regular meeting of the Cabinet was headed by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and took place on Wednesday morning in the Amiri Diwan.

Following the conference, the following statement was released by HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs:

The following were the subjects that the Cabinet deliberated over:

First: The draft law for nationalising private sector employment should be approved and sent to the Shura Council.

Second: The President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau's draft decision about the requirements and guidelines pertaining to the duration of relevant experience in the private sector is approved.

The creation of the draft decision is a response to Cabinet Decision No. (32) of 2016's application of Article (17) of the Executive Regulation of Civil Human Resources Law.

Third: Taking the required steps to approve an agreement between the governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of South Africa for cooperation in the sphere of education. 

Fourth - Approval of:

  • An agreement to collaborate on aviation education in the field between the Oman Aviation Academy and the Qatar Aeronautical Academy in the Sultanate of Oman is being drafted.
  • The draft of the seventh executive programme for the academic years 2023/2024-2024/2025-2025/2026 of the cultural and educational cooperation agreement between the governments of the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar.
  • The UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the Qatar Fund For Development in the State of Qatar are drafting a grant agreement that will provide multipurpose monetary support to Syrian refugees living in Lebanon and Jordan.
  • a draft basic contribution agreement between the World Health Organisation and the Qatar Fund for Development in the State of Qatar.
  • A draft basic contribution agreement between the United Nations Development Programme and the Qatar Fund for Development in the State of Qatar, intended to sustain regular resources for the UNDP for the years 2023–2024.
  • A draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Rwanda and the Qatar Fund for Development in the State of Qatar on collaboration to assist the implementation of a project to make the proportion of out-of-school children in Rwanda zero.

Fifth - The Cabinet considered the following issues and made the necessary decisions:

  • The Qatar Financial Center's combined and audited financial accounts for the fiscal year that ends on December 31, 2022.
  • A report on the outcomes of the Islamic World's Ninth Conference of Environment Ministers.
  • A summary of the outcomes of the involvement in the Business Forum between Qatar and Africa.
