Family residency holders in Qatar have a defined and regulated route to legally join the workforce owing to the effective efforts of the Ministry of Labor (MoL). These programs provide effective and useful ways for people with family residence to participate in the labor market. Additionally, they enable companies to access a pool of highly qualified workers without having to hire foreign workers.
The Ministry of Labour's Ghanem Rashid Al Ghanem, head of the Labor Contract Attestations Department, described two formal processes that eligible family members, including wives and adult children of expatriate workers, can follow to get legal work authorization.
There are real advantages to this program for both employers and citizens. Numerous people with significant professional expertise and valuable abilities reside here as dependents. Employers now have the option to find skilled workers existing in the nation rather than bringing in talent from beyond.
The Ministry of Labour reviews requests to make sure they meet all requirements after they are submitted, whether by the employer or the applicant. The employment contract must be authenticated, related payments must be paid, and the Ministry of Interior must receive official approval before the procedure may continue. Lastly, family sponsorship is changed to employment-based residency, updating the person's residency status.
