Travellers visiting Georgia will be required to hold mandatory health and accident insurance from January 1, 2026, Qatar Airways said in a travel alert.
Under Georgia’s Law “On Tourism”, all tourists must carry a valid policy with minimum coverage of 30,000 Georgian Lari (about QR 40,000). The insurance can be in physical or electronic form, must be in Georgian or English, and remain valid for the entire stay.
The requirement does not apply to diplomatic passport holders, those entering under international treaties, or drivers involved in international freight and passenger transport.
