Kahraman exhibition reopens; 12 companies participate in the exhibition

The Kahraman exhibition has been reopened at its new location after expansions to accommodate the services provided by the Katara Kahraman Center and twelve local exhibitors are participating in the exhibition displaying different types of rosaries from various sources including Polish and Ukrainian ones, and artefacts of different sizes and shapes. The exhibition provides amateurs with the finest types of amber from the most famous producing countries, in various shapes. There is oval, rosin and circular amber. It also provides many services to amateurs and amber dealers, such as the service of professional photography for all types of amber. It also provides the service of an amber laboratory with the latest equipment to assess the quality of amber ore with high accuracy and grant a quality certificate to those interested.

Training workshops are held for those interested, and these include the workshops travelling to the most famous karam-producing countries to see all stages of production, within the programmes of the Katara Kahraman Center,

Katara annually holds the Katara International Amber Exhibition, which was suspended during the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the exhibition sessions are expected to resume in 2023. Meanwhile, the 12th edition of the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival which has the exhibits of the Omani Palm Fronds pavilion is being admired and welcomed by visitors.

It is one of the most prominent and famous Omani handicrafts and crafts that enrich the maritime heritage and include the manufacture of many collectibles and tools that are used in homes.

Saleh Rashid Al Bahri, supervisor of the Omani Palm Fronds pavilion, expressed his happiness at the turnout of people enjoying the exhibits at the pavilion, pointing out that the gauntlets, mats, dishes, baskets and fans come at the forefront of these manufactures that attract visitors to Katara.

Most visitors are eager to buy palm fronds with the aim of using them for adornment and decoration purposes within home furnishings and heritage accessories inside homes, salons and councils, because of their multiple shapes and bright colours and because they are environmentally friendly.

They are also acquired to present them as souvenirs on social occasions, noting the many modern additions to this handicraft and its development with innovative artistic touches to preserve the authentic marine heritage.
