The youngsters who participated in and won the 12th session of the holy Quran memorization competition organised in conjunction with Ramadan were given awards on Thursday by the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara.

Cash awards and appreciation certificates were given to the winners. Other participants received honours as well.

Hajar Sari, Mariam Sayed, and Laila Nizar took first place in the female division. Samia Akhtar, Tasneem Hisham, and Khadija Imad took second place.

On the other hand, parents applauded the prestigious level and high status that the holy Quran memorization competition for the blessed month of Ramadan reached in its twelfth session, expressing their happiness with the course's results and their profound influence on developing memorization skills, enhancing language abilities, and comprehending Arabic grammatical rules.

Children had the opportunity to learn and memorise the verses and surahs of the holy Quran through the competition.

Additionally, it gave children a better understanding of Islamic beliefs, morals, and laws, emphasising how learning the holy Quran by heart encourages a youngster to seek out and acquire more knowledge.

The imam and preacher of the Katara Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Makki, expressed his delight with the course's success in encouraging kids to memorise the holy Quran and improving the ability to memorize, review, and confirm what has been memorised.

In addition to its role in instilling admirable Islamic values and good morals, which are derived from the holy Qur'an and the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him), he emphasised the significance of the Quranic session in encouraging children on the proper use of the Arabic language and understanding of the holy Quran, recitation, intonation, study, and memorization.
