MoEHE announced the launch of an oral fluency contest to be held from May 1 - 9 across all kindergartens

A nationwide oral fluency competition will be held from May 1 to May 9 in all kindergartens, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).

By giving participants the abilities and competencies required to advance to the following educational stages, the contest seeks to realise the MoEHE's tactics connected to improving language skills and making learners' accomplishments correspond with their capacities, according to a statement from the MoEHE.

There are five phases to the contest.

Amna Youssef Al Sayed, the deputy principal of the Abi Hanifa Model Kindergarten, expressed her satisfaction at the children's involvement in the competition and pointed out that kindergartens provide all students with the necessary skills.

The stories that are incorporated into the curricula, she continued, improve children's language development and prepare them well for entry into the first grade.

The contest is open to all kindergarten students because, according to Al Sayed, in addition to the classroom and extracurricular activities, kindergartens also use advanced curricula offered by the MOEHE to assess the skills that all students must possess before moving on to the primary stage.

According to Aisha Al Mohannadi, an educational supervisor at the MoEHE's Early Education Department, the contest is a project that improves kindergarten students' language abilities since it encourages kids to read, construct words, and express themselves via drawings in an effort to speak effectively. This fulfils the objectives of the MoEHE's policy to foster language development in young children.

The competition, which began as internal competitions at government kindergartens, was later generalised throughout all of Qatar's government kindergartens, according to Iman Al Jabri, a supervisor at the MoEHE's Early Education Department, to assess children's language development.
