MoL celebrated the launch of "Istamer" platform, focused on employing Qatari retirees wishing to work in the private sector

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) celebrated the "Istamer" platform's launch on Sunday as part of its commitment to investing valuable expertise and enhancing the presence of qualified national cadres in the private sector. The "Istamer" platform is focused on hiring Qatari retirees who want to work in the private sector.

Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labour, HE; Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, HE; Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family, HE; Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, and President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, HE; all attended the inauguration ceremony.

To promote the National Programme for Job Localization in the Private Sector, the "Istamer" digital platform has just been unveiled. Its goal is to help retired people who are eager to rejoin the workforce find positions in private organisations that are compatible with their skill set. Retirees can create profiles on this platform, which enables platform administrators to count the number of retirees interested in reentering the workforce and evaluate their knowledge and experience. In order to connect them with suitable organisations or businesses for prospective employment, this will be made easier.

The technology streamlines the whole hiring procedure, which is completed online, from application submission to final job offers and interviews. This offers companies a larger pool of possible candidates throughout the recruiting process and provides clarity for job seekers on open positions in the private sector.

The "Istamer" platform, which supports artificial intelligence, is the first of its type in the State of Qatar, according to MoL Director of Qualifying and Skill Development Abdulrahman Telfat. This is consistent with the Ministry's goal of utilising the IT infrastructure to carry out the Localization program's goals in the business sector. The platform will offer employment possibilities exclusively for retirees in a variety of private industries, including private security, private education, and private healthcare. Telfat emphasised that in line with the Social Insurance Law No. 1 of 2022 and Military Retirement Law No. 2 of 2022, a retired citizen from civil or military authority has the right to work in the private sector without jeopardising his pension.

The MoL has established a dedicated hotline at 40488061 and an email address, NHRE-HotlineMOL.gov.qa, to handle requests and questions about the platform in conjunction with the launch of the Istamer platform. The creation of the "Istamer" digital platform is a result of the MoL, pertinent organisations, and the Digital Transformation Unit working together. Their common objective is to develop a workforce in Qatar that is ready to perform exceptionally well and is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
