The Ministry of Labour (MoL) received about 5,616 applications for new recruitment in December. Out of them 2,569 applications were approved, and 3,047 were rejected. The total number of requests to modify one’s profession was about 3,376, of which 3,374 were approved and two were rejected. The Ministry of Labor issued its statistical bulletin for December 2022, which features the country’s labour sector’s most prominent statistics and figures, as well as the conclusions reached following inspection visits to various establishments subject to the provisions of the Labour Law.
The number of work permit applications submitted to the ministry during the month of December reached 1,244, including 561 permit renewal applications, 459 issuance of new permit applications, and 224 applications regarding the cancelling if issued permits, according to the bulletin issued yesterday,
In terms of inspection visits to labour recruitment offices, the statistical bulletin showed that the ministry carried out about 59 inspections, which resulted in the issuance of six warnings to correct the violations. Advice and guidance were also provided to the recruitment office.
The Labour Inspection Department carried out intensive inspection campaigns during the month of December, to monitor the extent to which establishments comply with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with regulating the labour market in the country, with a total number of 3,375 inspection visits in various regions. They resulted in registering 695 violations against companies, and the issuance of 592 warnings.
Regarding labour complaints, the statistical bulletin showed that the Labour Relations Department received 1,757 complaints from the workers against the establishment which are subject to the provisions of the Labour Law.
