The Ministry of Transport (MoT) announced in a circular that sea navigation activities for recreational, tourism, fishing, and similar vessels will resume during the morning shift, but marine navigation activities for same vessels would continue to be suspended during the evening shift.
According to MoT, this is because of a persistent bug in the Global Positioning System (GPS) that may compromise the precision of marine navigation equipment and navigation safety.
The Ministry has instructed all marine vessel owners and seafarers to observe the following rules:
- Return to port before sunset
- Do not sail farther than 12 nautical miles
These measures are part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to protect seafarers and ensure their safe return to ports, and it urged full compliance with the circular’s directives.
