Ooredoo, Qatar’s leading telecommunications company, held a press conference on October 27 to announce details of the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo 2026, set to take place on Friday, January 16, 2026. Now in its 14th year, the marathon has become one of the region’s most beloved sporting events, attracting thousands of runners from around the world and celebrating fitness, community, and inclusivity.
The 2026 edition introduces several exciting new features to enhance the experience for participants. Among them is the Blue Fun Run, organized in collaboration with the Autistic Parents Platform and supported by autism organizations in Doha. This new race offers a dedicated space for children with autism to join in the festivities alongside the Kids’ Fun Run.
Additional enhancements include optional name and time engraving at Marathon Village and the ability for Nojoom loyalty members to register using the Ooredoo App and earn points.
As the marathon’s official airline partner, Qatar Airways will provide all international participants with a 10% discount on airfare, with unique codes shared for booking.
A total of QAR 1,000,000 in prize money will be awarded across all race categories, and winners of the 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km events will have a chance to win two Toyota Prado 2026 vehicles.
The 2025 edition drew over 15,000 participants from 140 countries and maintained its World Athletics Gold Label status for the second consecutive year. With its strong community spirit, inclusivity, and focus on well-being, Ooredoo continues to strengthen Qatar’s sporting culture.
Early bird registration is open until October 31, with a group discount available for teams of four or more participants.
