Pre-Registration Service has sped up entry and exit procedures of travellers at Abu Samra Border Crossing

The Pre-Registration Service, according to a top official, has sped up entrance and exit procedures for passengers at the Abu Samra Border Crossing, drastically reducing waiting time. As per Director of Land Customs Department at General Authority of Customs (GAC) Ahmed Yousuf Al Sahel, the General Authority of Customs, in collaboration with the Permanent Committee for Managing Abu Samra Border Crossing, had established the Abu Samra Border Crossing Pre-Registration Service in Metrash2.

According to the Director of Land Customs, there is an electronic insurance plan service for automobiles arriving in Qatar from foreign nations. "This online service also accelerated procedures, reducing traveller waiting time," Al Sahel stated. Pre-Registration Service for Abu Samra Border Crossing in Metrash2 is an optional service that allows citizens and residents to complete departure and arrival processes at the Abu Samra border via a dedicated fast lane, while other lanes will continue to operate normally.

To utilise this service, customers must first log in to the Metrash2 app, then pick 'Travel Services' and then 'Pre-Registration for Abu Samra Border Crossing', and provide the necessary information, including vehicle, driver, and passengers. The government will send an SMS to the recipient after the request has been confirmed.

The General Authority of Customs dispatched trained work teams to give assistance with the Authority's preparedness and preparations for supporting the country's air, land, and seaports, as well as providing complete service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The authority offers training workshops in order to strengthen the capacities of the Authority's cadres and increase their involvement in the capacity-building plan, as well as to share and exchange skills, information, and experience among all workers from all departments.

The workshops are also part of the Authority's strategic orientations and align with Qatar Vision 2030's human development pillar.
