Qatar Air Sports Committee announced that they will be hosting the sixth FAI World Paramotor Slalom Championship for the first time in the Middle East

The sixth FAI World Paramotor Slalom Championship will be held in the Middle East from February 1–14, 2024, according to an announcement made yesterday by the Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) of the Joint Special Forces. Participation from 20 states and 70 athletes is anticipated, at the Lusail Coast event. The 44th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship was successfully organised in 2021, and it was reported that the future competition would include significant international participation in all sectors.

The website for the 6th FAI World Paramotor Slalom Championships also made a map of the venue's stadiums, takeoff zone, and spectator areas available. The hosting of this championship is a result of the unrestricted support and thorough care the sport has been receiving from the wise leadership in the nation, according to Vice Chairman of QASC Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri. He made this statement during a press conference held on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Al Mansouri said that the QASC is eager to foster this zeal and desire in order to provide young Qataris the chance to compete against the biggest international teams in air sports, including paramotor competitions. According to Saeed Abdullah Al Marri, the coach of the Qatari Paramotor squad, the team will consist of ten participants. He said that the squad is well prepared for the competition after training at an outside camp in Spain and that they want to deliver a strong performance.

QASC Captain Hazza Hamad Al Attiyah said that Qatar is ready to host the championship, stating that it is the first of its kind in the region. Al Mansouri said that QASC is preparing to make this tournament a title of excellence with the solidarity and cooperation of the tournament organising committee.
