Qatar Airways leads with Starlink on Boeing 787-8, nearly 120 widebody aircraft connected

Qatar Airways has become the first airline to equip the Boeing 787-8 with Starlink, adding to its record-breaking rollout across its Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 fleets. By December 2025, the carrier had completed Starlink installation on its entire A350 fleet in just eight months, bringing its total Starlink-connected widebody aircraft to nearly 120.

This rollout, the fastest in aviation history, also makes Qatar Airways the first globally to secure Starlink certification for the 787-8 and operate the world’s largest Starlink-equipped A350 fleet. In 2025, over 10 million passengers flew with complimentary Starlink internet on Qatar Airways, nearly half of all Starlink-connected airline travellers worldwide.

Now, more than 58% of Qatar Airways’ widebody fleet offers ultra-fast connectivity of up to 500 Mbps, enabling uninterrupted streaming, video calls, and real-time productivity on long- and ultra-long-haul flights.
