The Qatar Calendar House declared that the holy month of Ramadan for the year is anticipated to fall on Monday, March 11, 2024, based on astronomical calculations made by its scientists. 

The Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the nation is still in charge of making the official decision on the start of the holy month of Ramadan. 

The executive director of the Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, engineer Faisal Mohammed Al Ansari, said that Sunday, March 10, 2024 (the day of the investigation), will mark the birth of this year's crescent of the auspicious month of Ramadan.

While the start and finish of the Gregorian months are determined by the movement of the Earth in its orbit around the Sun, the Hijri months are determined by the movement of the Moon in its orbit around the Earth.
