Qatar is all set to host the World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024

As the 30-day countdown to the main event approached, the Local Organising Committee declared today that Qatar is prepared to host the magnificent World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024. For the first time in the history of the MENA area, the World Aquatics Championships will include competition from almost 2600 competitors from 197 nations.

From February 2 to 18, there will be 75 medal events in six different disciplines for elite swimmers: artistic swimming, open water swimming, diving, high diving, water polo, and swimming. These events will be held at three different locations: the Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre, and Old Doha Port. The test event, the Second Arab Age Group Aquatics Championships, will be held in Qatar from January 10 to 15, one week before the World Championships.

Doha, which has first-rate infrastructure and has hosted important swimming events in the past, was expected to host a special edition of the championships, according to the LOC.

February 4 is the day for the Aspire Dome Opening Ceremony, according to the Director of Marketing, Communications, Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al Thani, a committee member, stated that the LOC would guarantee that everyone has an unforgettable time during the whole event.

During the press conference, the official Championships mascots, Nahim and Mayfara, who have been travelling the nation, also made an appearance.

The World Aquatics Masters Championships, will take place from February 23 to March 3, will take place after the World Aquatics Championships. The tournament is anticipated to involve over 3000 athletes.
