Qatar ranked fourth for residential property investment in 2023 as per Housearch Investment Index

According to the first-ever rating published by the Housearch Investment Index, Qatar ranked fourth overall out of 50 nations for residential property investment in 2023. The index, which examined the potential benefits and drawbacks of real estate investment across 50 nations, placed Oman in third position, closely followed by Qatar. Oman's investment payback ratio was 11, but Qatar's was 14.

Ireland, because of its strong rental returns, led the ranking with 16 investment paybacks, followed by Cyprus with 11. The United Arab Emirates (fifth), Georgia (eighth), and Armenia (ninth) are the other Asian nations that placed in the top 10. The lone North American nation in the world's top 10 was Costa Rica, which came in at number seven. Malta and Bulgaria, two European nations, came in at number six and ten, respectively.  

According to research by Housearch, the trend highlighted the Gulf region's allure as a steady and dependable investment refuge, particularly in light of the cooling real estate markets in Europe and North America brought on by anticipated "higher-for-longer" interest rates. 

The Index's score indicates that Oman and Qatar are becoming more popular with foreign investors who are looking for consistent and steady cash flows. These markets, which have good chances for portfolio diversification, are starting to gain popularity as appealing substitutes for more established investment locations.

The global peace index, the property rights index, GDP growth, and rental yields or investment return were the four criteria used to rank the nations.
