HE Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Public Health, announced on Thursday Decision No. (46) of 2025, which cancels Decision No. (21) of 2023 concerning charges for obtaining or replacing a health card if lost or damaged.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, Qatari national ID cards will be used by Qatari citizens instead of health cards to obtain medical care at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and other healthcare facilities as of tomorrow (Friday). This will be carried out at no cost.
Residents' health cards would continue to be valid and be utilized in accordance with current protocols, the Ministry added.
The Ministry's efforts to streamline administrative processes, standardize official papers used in government transactions, and improve the patient experience are reflected in this decision.
People should make sure they have their national ID card with them when they visit medical institutions, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
